SEEKINGVocalist, Lead Guitar.
Original Hard Rock Group seeking Hard Rock Vocalist.
My name is Ben Valle and I am in a hard rock band in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area (western St. Paul specifically) and we are seeking a vocalist to join us! Our band is Weekend Picnic.
.weekendpicnicband (We are also looking for a lead guitarist!)
Weekend Picnic pulls influences from many styles of rock music while always trying to maintain a catchy, groovable, and heavy hitting vibe. Samples of our music can be found on the music tab of our website. Check them out!
We are hoping to find a tenor male vocalist for this group. I have always imagined this music with the intensity and range of the male vocal. Ideally we would like this person to be comfortable singing both clean and edgy/screamed vocals. We are a big fan of strong soaring vocals so we expect this person to be confident in their voice and be able to project, as a professional would. We believe the range for most of our music falls in a tenors range but we are open to others! (Please listen to the tracks to see if you can hear yourself in that range). We want the focus of our music to be “sing at the top of your lungs” style melodies but also bring in the screams to increase intensity at certain parts. We are also hoping that this person will have a strong affinity for writing lyrics, melodies, and harmonies to accompany the music. Ideally the lyrics would be meaningful. We love seeing when people quote lyrics or even get tattoos of the words that inspired them! It would be cool to see something like that happen.
Currently the band has a full albums worth of music we are rehearsed on, but we are missing the vocal/lyrics element! So close!
The last thing we hope to emphasize about this group is that we see this group having a positive vibe and influence. Think PG-13. Essentially we don’t want our lyrics and shows laden with swearing. It feels unprofessional and unnecessary. We can use a thesaurus if we have to! And if drug use is your thing, you need not apply. We are not about that drama.
Vision wise, we want to be a regularly gigging band, and eventually take this thing as far as it will go, and we are driven to do so. We take our music seriously and treat the band with a business level approach (while still having fun) so we would hope any applicant would do the same!
Our current rehearsal schedule is from 11-2pm on Saturdays, with a mini arranging/writing session on Wednesday’s evenings for whomever can make it. Vocalist would be expected to participate in these. Timing can be flexible on Wednesday evening.
Inline with the vision I have for this band, I do have some age guidelines. I am looking for musicians between the ages of 25-35. Our average age is 28, and I believe it to be more beneficial to the ensemble if we can all be of similar ages. Some exceptions can be made if the situation is right. We hope this group can be close knit as we all share a musical passion.
Hopefully the music will speak for itself as to what kind of genre and flavor we are going for, but let us know if you would like further details of our influences.

Remember October Demo
Remember October DemoAs we continue to keep writing before we can get ourselves into the studio, we build our tracks in the basement studio so we can continue to practice and develop our sound and arrangements. This track was the first one finished for that purpose so we thought we would share it and give you a glimpse into our progress! Titled "Remember October", this song is powerful, emotional, and we hope it makes you want to sing along at the top of your lungs!

128 Demo TeaserThis track hits all the intensity dynamics simply by switching from clean to distorted guitar. The Intertwining melody lines in this one between the guitars, piano, and synths makes this one truly a great listen!
110 Demo Teaser
110 Demo TeaserHard rock meets pop rock on this one. The choruses are open and have a very melodic riff while the verse sections take a darker turn into a more heavy metal sounding riff.
79 DemoMixing the low chordal sounds of the guitar with some repetitive high notes makes for a really intriguing guitar riff that becomes the central point of this track.
52 DemoQuick, energetic, and rhythmic, this track hits hard and fast!
43 DemoThis track drives all the way through. From a steady beat and pattern at the beginning through the open choruses and rhythmic bridge, this track propels forward!
16 DemoBirthed from a strict single note delay, this track features cool lead line harmonies, big choruses, and a soaring solo.

112 Demo TeaserThis track is fun! Rhythmic and bouncy on the verses, then grounded and heavy on the chorus.
135 DemoThis one is a bit of an anomaly. Groovy and dancy, yet infused with rock!
136 DemoThis one is heavy. Thick guitars, soaring lead lines, and a rockin' bass. Wait for the bridge breakdown on this one. It's worth it.
