ABOUT

Being exposed to bluegrass music almost all of his life, J.T. began playing guitar at age 13. At age 15 he got his first mandolin for Christmas and was hooked. Through out his teen years he played in various bluegrass bands from Savannah to the Augusta area. After graduating high school and enlisting in the Air Force, he moved to Shreveport, Louisiana and began frequenting many bluegrass festivals in the area and became associated with many local bluegrass bands. While stationed in Europe he played mandolin and provided lead and baritone vocals for SRG while home on leave. While in Las Vegas he signed on with the The Pickadillos then the Wurst Boys in Germany. Currently he is a founding member of Blue Mountain Highway of Augusta, Georgia. He also fills in on guitar and mandolin with Cricket Ridge on occasion. Early influences include John Duffy of the Seldom Scene, Bill Monroe and Sam Bush of New Grass Revival. Other Bands John’s played with include: Five of a Kind (Aiken, SC), Double Diamond Band (Savannah, GA), The Liberty Bluegrass Boys (Liberty, TX), Sideline (Shreveport, LA), Savannah River Grass (Aiken, SC), The Pickadillos (Las Vegas, NV), The Wurst Boys (Germany), Blue Mountain Highway (Augusta, GA).
