ABOUT

I've got over 25 years gigging experience, most of that on bass. I also have plenty of experience on guitar, especially slide guitar, and drums. I love playing in blues/rock trios, and am definitely more improviser than memorizer. I’m looking for other musicians that have the experience and confidence to go out on a limb. I don’t really play much “ jam band” music, but I love the notion of letting the music go where it will, within reason of course. I know a heap of songs, have been known to make songs up on the spot on stage, and have a few pretty good originals. Honestly I’d love to find a couple more multi talented musicians so I could play something on all three instruments. On bass I can play blues, classic or southern rock, older country, good stuff. I play a fretless bass, but it doesn't really sound like one until I want it to. I’m nearly equally fluid on guitar, and am learning fast on drums. I’m ready to jam. I can follow chord charts to most stuff. Not really able to devote a huge amount of time into a project, but you never know what may happen. Right now I'm mainly looking for fill-in gigs or jams with people close-by. I honestly have grown sick of crappy bar gigs with less pay than I made in the 80s, and just want to have fun now. If we gig we gig (not for free) if not, cool too. Give me a shout if you’re close to Monroe or Winder, maybe we can get together.
