SEEKING
Bass Guitar, Upright bass.ABOUT
UPDATE (11/12/2023): Our acoustic trio is looking for a bassist - preferably upright (but not required), preferably who can sing at least backing vox (but not required) - to round out our fun little combo act. We have three solid lead vocals already, and focus much of our set list on acts with great vocals (Think Beatles, Everly Brothers, Eagles, etc.) We're having an absolute blast doing what we do, and think it has a lot of potential. We have gigs on the calendar. Rehearsals in Pasadena, MD. Play out once or twice per month. We would love to hire a bassist who is invested in our idea, easy to work with, and who can help us achieve our goals as well as their own.
I'm a guitarist and lead/backing vocalist. I'm involved in a few different projects, including a cover band, an acoustic duo, and solo acoustic act. I'm on BandMix primarily to make connections with other musicians, and develop projects with similar-minded folks I find along the way.
The band is working regularly, playing both public and private gigs; but, right now, we're looking for a solid, versatile bassist to complete our lineup. We have gigs, a couple/few per month, already booked out through the remainder of 2023.

Influences
I like most musical styles... I grew up on rock (which is now classic rock), enjoyed 80s and 90s alternative and modern rock. Have been getting into other more folky styles in recent years... country, folk, Americana, roots, and also enjoy vintage rock and vocal groups a lot, as well as singer-songwriters of many types.
Some of my favorite bands: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Cars, R.E.M., Cracker, The BoDeans, The Everly Brothers, Elvis

EQUIPMENT
I generally play custom-designed copies of Fender Strat and Tele guitars; and, have an affinity for Gibson and Gibson-inspired guitars with P90 pickups. I also play acoustic guitars, and love the Taylor 800 series six- and twelve string guitars.
Being a guitarist who also sings a lot, I prefer a small number of sounds that work well for a large number of songs/styles. I generally gravitate toward clean tones with a bit of an edge; but, I can also dial pristine clean tones, and varying degrees of overdrive and distortion, depending on what the song(s) call(s) for.
To get the sounds I'm looking for, I've purchased guitars from PRS, Gibson, Knaggs, Taylor, b3 (Gene Baker), and others. Amps, I for mostly clean pedal platforms. Right now, I'm using Divided By 13 amps and absolutely loving them.
I have a complete sound systems for rehearsals and gigs, and rehearsal space. My speakers are top-of-line RCF powered models. I also have full stereo in-ear monitoring for four members, where each person gets and controls their own stereo monitor mix. We use a digital mixer to record rehearsals and gigs.
