I am one of the few dark skinned people in the world that appreciates rock and heavy metal music, but I love all music, rock just happens to be my favorite. I favor gravelly voice types but do enjoy melodic voices, ideal music for me combines the two. Too much screaming takes away from the point of screaming and too many clean vocals take away from the energy heavy metal communicates. I'm heavily inspired by David Draiman and the texture of his voice, Breaking Benjamin's way of mixing melodic and heavy vocal, Serj Tankian and his unique vocals, and Jim Morrison for being a barritone. I write music too...

Lots, but to name a few...

Disturbed (favorite band), Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu (mostly lead sails and a paper anchor but bleeding mascara was a good song), Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for my Valentine, Lil Wayne (Clever lyricist), Coheed and Cambria, The Doors (certain songs), Tenacious D, Trivium (mostly their newest album Shogun but the Crusade was good), Unearth (only really listened to the March), Liquid Tension Experiment, and much much more... Too much to list. Add me on LastFM even though the music taste may be a little outdated (Axewhipe is my profile name).
