We experiment with electronics, guitars, synths and other random noisemakers. We rely on improvisation. We're interested in the idea of making this more than just a musical venture at some point -- possibly incorporating our own short films and other media to accompany the music live. We currently consist of two members, but are hoping to add at least one more. We're particularly interested in meeting drummers and/or anyone who specializes in electronic music. We like all noise loud and soft, harmonious and dissonant. Currently we're developing our drums and electronic textures in the studio using mainly drum machines and laptop trackers, but we'd really like to have an actual drummer to contribute their own style and to help produce those sounds in a live setting. We only have two hands a piece, and multitasking with four instruments isn't a talent either of us possess. :) We're currently in the studio working on a demo disc to shop around. Our goal is basically to create a unique band with a sound that Richmond doesn't have yet. It's a step-by-step process that we're putting the time into in order to make it right. There are plenty of alterna-bar bands out there and we're kind of bored with that scene. Two important things to know about us: (#1) We're not doing this to make money. We're doing it because we love music...and noise. If we start getting paid at some point then that's great, but for the time being we're content to make the music we want and play local shows for the pure joy of playing out. If a venue wants to pay us a little somethin'...bonus. (#2) We improvise. Our song structures are very loose, and we basically write fragments of music and blend them together with very open-ended transitions. Our compositions are mainly guitar-based. There are currently no vocals either. We'd consider adding a vocalist, but it's got to be the right person. If you're interested in singing, screaming chanting or doing some sort of interpretive dance, poetry-slam fusion for us, we'd love to hear from you.
