ABOUT

Over the last 3 years I have become a handpan player. Hardly played anything else because handpans are a fascinating and mesmerising new kind of melodic percussive instrument. Better suited for weddings, intimate celebrations, formal events, joyful and solemn occasions. I'm leaving my previous bio here because I may drift back toward a band situation that may or may not have an interest in my new instrument.

I'm a 48 y.o. acoustic/electric rhythm guitar player. I prefer classic rock, alt.rock, southern rock, Mowtown, old blues, folk, bluegrass, and more. Honestly, I'm not attracted to jazz or doom. I have developed some ability to play mandolin, lap-slide/Dobro, banjo, ukelele, keyboard/synth, and harmonica. Among other things, I have a killer synth guitar rig that allows me to create the same keyboard/synth/sample-based sounds as any high quality synthesiser or software program. So, from the guiar I can sound like a bass, organ, piano, horn section, orchestra, drum kit, sax, vocal pad, and a thousand other instruments or effects. Other than being a non-smoker and non-drinker, I am a non-singer. I like to sing, I just can't do it in key.
