My names Joshua and I'm looking for a few commited folks who play & sing to make about a 4 piece string band to play Americana, Alt Folk/Alt Country music with a touch of Bluegrass.
I currently play in a Christian Rock Band but am looking for another group of musicians to play roots music so I can use some of my songs that don't work for rock. Plus I would really love to be in a band that can jump in a van and head down to a festival to play.
I have performed at a lot of festivals like Ocrafolk, Fiddlers Grove, Bluegrass festivals, GrassRoots, Haiawatha, & MerleFest but as a clogger in the Green Grass Cloggers. Would like to preform at Festivals in a band too. Grown an appreciation for Old Time music dancing in GGC with my wife.
I've played in a few bluegrass & old time jam groups. Played at festivals for clogging workshops. I use to play a lot in downtown New Bern on the streets with my guitar, harmonica around my neck, tambourine on my foot and egg shaker in my hand.
I love watching bands at festivals that have something different to them and thats what I want for this band. To put on an entertaining performance for the audience.
To show you don't need electricity to be electrifying.
I would like some folks that enjoy writting music so we can collaborate and come up with our own new unique sound.

I grew up on oldies, country, & singing hymns in chuch. Love taking old hymns and giving them a different feel.
I have been in 2 musicals in New Bern: Oklahoma! 2007 & Smoke on the Mountain 2011 (Awesome show. It was just like playing in a family band.)
Would love to have a family band but my kids are only 2 yrs and 3 months, so I have a while till then. They already have their own instruments just not big enough for them yet. ;)
I work at an Elementary School so I have summers off to tour for gigs. If you have summer off too that would be great. (But not required)
