I recently moved back to Miami to finish my degree in Music Education at Florida Memorial University. I currently serves as the Assistant Director of Bands and Arranger at Florida Memorial University where my responsibilities include handling recruitment and administration for the FMU Miami All-Star Summer Band Camp and the Melton Mustafa Jazz Festival/Workshop. I did under graduate studies at Florida A&M University where he was a member of the Trombone Section and Recruitment Team. While at Florida A&M University I was a member of the Marching, Symphonic, Jazz, Brass Ensemble and Trombone Choir. In 2000 and 2002 I was selected for the CBDNA Southeast Intercollegiate Honors band. I am a former member of the U.S. Marines Basic Musician program where I studied at the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. Prior to return to the Miami area I served as the Assistant to the Director of Band and Arranger at Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC where my responsibilities included the coordinating of Public and Community Relations, Charlotte-Mecklenburg County Band Director Liaison, Recruitment, Logistics, and was instrumental in establishing a university property accountability system for band property and equipment. I also served as the Assistant Band Director and Arranger at James S. Rickards High in Tallahassee, Florida (2002-2003) the band was selected as the honor band for the Veterans Day Celebration Honor Band and was selected to perform a post-game performance at Florida A&M University. In 2004 he was asked to serve as the Assistant to the Director of Band and Arranger at Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Georgia (2004-2005), during my time at Thomasville High the band was featured in a commercial for White Wheat Bread for the Hostus Bread Company. In 2005 I resigned as the Assistant to the Director of Bands and Arranger at Thomasville High to accept a position at Johnson C. Smith University. I have been a Guest Clinician at the Florida A&M University Marching 100 Summer Band Camp (1998-2002, 2004) Dade County Parks and Recreation Annual Summer Performing Arts Camp (1999), Miami Northwestern Senior High (1999) and Florida Memorial University Miami All-Star Summer Band Camp (2003-2006), and several high schools in Miami-Dade, Dekalb, and Leon Counties. I have also served as a guest Conductor at Miami Carol City Senior High and Thomasville High School. I am a member of the HBCU Consortium, Music Educator National Conference (MENC), FAMU Marching 100 Alumni Band Association, and an honorary member of the Eta Omicron Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. I am also the President and Founder of Igtox1 Productions Inc. and Virtuoso Band Consulting Inc. where they specialize in custom made arrangements, half-time shows, administrative operation, logistics, fundraising, and travel for high school and colligate bands throughout the United States.
