ABOUT

Melodic, Ambient, Harsh, Calming.... all these words describe brian botkiller.

brian botkiller consists of one member: brian botkiller, Electronic Music producer and creator. Combining simple yet driving drums with melodic synthesizers and the occasional sample, brian botkiller, "Aims to create a sense of music within multiple layers of effects and melody. And it works.” (Pork Tartare, [porktartare])

botkiller’s music is simple, but in that simplicity he allows the listener to enjoy the music and the environment it creates. His music is just what you want if you're looking for something to dance to, chill to or drive to. His sound is also original - something hard to find in a lot of electronic music these days.

Most important to botkiller are his fans and those that listen to his music. He spends just as much time talking to people after shows as he does playing shows, and he hopes that everyone had a good time.

botkiller’s music packs clubs and warehouses in and around New Mexico on a consistent basis. Strong but simple bass and percussion closely follow powerful melody. He plays live concerts often, and has gathered quite a following throughout the country.

Comparable bands to botkiller’s sound are The Future Sound of London, Orbital, and Underworld. These are groups known for their straightforward approach to electronic music and their ability to project a thought or feeling through their songs, something brian also aims to do.

brian currently has one CD release, “The Sky EP”, on Fwank! Music and is currently recording two full-length releases, “loopisim” and “Cinematic”, both slated for a mid-2004 release. Promo copies are available. Also now in release is the "against all odds" CDR single, in limited release. Please contact for information.

Influences

My Influences on my music are many, and include, but are not limited to, the following:

The Future Sound of London, BT, hybrid, KMFDM, Sasha, underworld, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Mastema, Raine Vivian, Hendrix, Regicide, Bad Religion, The Clash, Green Day, Moby, Dirty Vegas, Fluke,
The Chemical Brothers, MJ Cole, Orbital, Sneaker Pimps (Before they dropped Keli, now they suck),
Bjork, Portishead, Oasis, Massive Attack, Chemlab, Stereo MC's, Goldie, Roni Size,
and about a billion others... this list will be really big sometime soon.

I like to list my influences because it is all these people that make me want to write music, make me want to be a musician. Without them, I doubt that I would keep trying. I thank them for that.
