I've been playing drums on and off for 25 years. It took a slight backseat when I started an original Celtic rock band playing guitar and singing, but drums are my passion and the instrument I am focused on.
My primary gig is traveling the country playing Renaissance fests as a drummer/frontman for a bagpipe and war drum ensemble.
I'd love to sit in for a band needing a drummer or to find a group of musicians who want to play/rehearse/write/record/jam and gig whenever we can. I can commit once a week for rehearsals, etc. and in the fall/winter I have lots more time for gigging, etc.
I enjoy playing rock, classic rock, hard rock, funk, metal, blues, bluegrass, Americana, etc., etc. My style tends to incorporate primarily straightforward rock and funk beats, and I'm very picky about the metal and country I listen to. I can be flashy, or live right inside the pocket...whatever the song calls for.
ACOUSTIC MUSICIANS: I have a couple of acoustic setups and I'd love to find an acoustic singer/songwriter/player to do some acoustic shows with. I have lots of options from a simple cajon to a small acoustic kit I built.

Influences
It's hard to discern "influences" from "drummers I like." I mean, I "like" Neil Peart but I don't play like him.
So I'll list the drummers I think I emulate when playing:
Dennis Diken - The Smithereens
Randy Guss - Toad the Wet Sprocket
Kenny Aronoff - Mellencamp and just about everyone else
Daru Jones - Jack White, et al
Mick Fleetwood - Fleetwood Mac
John Bonham - Zep
Steven Adler - GNR (Don't laugh, he's a SOLID, underrated drummer!)
