ABOUT

I am a solid jazz and rock guitar player. I can play just about any style of music with competence. I present a professional attitude and I play well with others. I graduated from GIT in 1990 with Honors, so I have a good handle on harmony and theory and working within a group with team work being a priority. I am kind and considerate and have a great sense of humor.

I am currently in a jazz combo. I am committed to them, but I am also committed to compiling a network of musicians in case I need to call upon anyone for help. Networking is essential to keeping the spirit of music alive and well. Please feel free to message me and I'll put you in my contacts.

Influences

Everything and everyone you can imagine. I started out playing the "hard rock" hits of the day in our high school gym, talent shows and church dances. I've played every type of shredding rock, folk, popular or country music you can imagine. I've played almost the entire Real Book collection from Bebop to Latin. I've studied and hung out with the contemporary Gypsy players like Angelo and Robbin. I am influenced by great technique and musicality. However, if anyone would ask what you would listen to if you were stranded on a deserted island, it would be Frank Zappa Inca Roads, Creedance, Allman Bros Live at the Fillmore, Miles Davis Kind of Blue, Eric Johnson, and Joe Pass Virtuoso. Actually, I love it all.

EQUIPMENT

I have too much crap (my wife's terminology) to list, but rest assured that I am well equipped to do a jazz, blues or rock gig. Recently, I have switched over to using amp modeling with Line 6 products and FRFR cabinets. I own a Behringer XR18 mixer and I prefer to play in a band that runs the entire mix to a nice Front of House system. I strongly prefer to reside in the 21st century with regard to style, energy, and gear.
