ABOUT

Hi! I am lookin for drummer and bassist primarily with expert skill rating. I know my instruments well and hopefully you do too.
I’ve played with moderate level musicians and it sounds moderately good.
Looking for tight and solid playing.
I am a very experienced self-taught musician.
My strongest qualities are guitar lead and ryrhm and vocals. Front man here. Song writing/composition I’m solid.
I am only interested in playing original music.
I have tons of music I recorded in my home studio to which I play all of the instruments and sing all of the vocal tracks.
They are in a wide range of genres.
Overall I would say that I am Pop rock Funk bluesy kind of guy. However I do not like playing 12 bar blues or a traditional roadhouse blues at all.
It’s nice to listen to at a tavern sometimes but I’m just not interested in playing the repetition and simplicity.
I am interested in collaborating studio wise. But second to getting a good band together.
I have a very large band room in my garage with a nice drum set a great PA system bass amp guitar amps guitars bass guitars and plenty of percussion.
I am really most interested in exploring my original tunes with other pro level musicians.
Pro level being the most important thing here.
Not that you get paid to play. Just that you’ve got your instrument mastered and can play multiple genres.
Thank you!

Influences

Beatles Sublime U2 Muse Cake Train Hendrix Cold Play Beck Floyd Cure Chili Peppers Slightly Stoopid Weird Al Joe Satriani Elliot Smith Jack Black 311 G&R and lots of 90s Pop Alternative.
Overall I’m not a big fan of today’s top of the charts music. Sounds too much the same and repetitive for me personally. It kind of sounds like everybody’s working with the same keyboard and vocal patches. Lol!
I need some good sassy funky organic music with a good hook.
Of course I would like to bring some of the newer style digital influence into my tracks as to keep it relatively current. But I don’t want to lose the organic sound.
I dig a good groove with a buildup to a smashing chorus and then back down. A bit old school I know but it’s rung true for decades.
Most of my influences lean towards the 90s Pop alternative side but my music does not sound much like grunge at all. Most of my learning growing up was playing hard rock and metal.
I do not have any interest to play that nowadays.
However I am happy that I did because it really perfected my guitar technique. And trust me I still love to shred the metal behind closed doors.
I just don’t want to jam it with people.
I loved sublime and the diversity in mixing reggae chops with rock funky grooves.
I loved the random one hit wonders of the 90s.
They had balls.
My music has a very original type of sound that I can’t really compare it to anybody.
It is very poppy at times. And then very funky and groovy at times.
Depends on which song.
I do try to stick with a basic music writing formula to keep it simple.
Each and every song is far different than the next as I love exploring musical possibilities. And getting silly too!
But as I said, they are very catchy so I try to stay simplistic at the same time.
I’ve found that oversaturating modulations and confusing people with out of place guitar solos loses an audience.
In my humble opinion, most non-musicians don’t really care to sit there and listen to you shred.
99% of the people on earth do not play music.
Overall I believe they want to hear a catchy song that gets stuck in their head so they want to share it.
Cut the song Free Bird in half and I kind of love it.
Quote by Jonny cash. “ all I need is three chords and a problem“
Ok maybe my stuffs not that simple lol!
But the theory rings true.
Most of the greatest songs of all time are just a few simple chords played in the right order with a nice melody.
And a great vocal hook of course.
