Just moved to Ephrata, looking for something that might bring in a gig or 2 a week. I checked "just for fun" because I am unemployed and cannot predict what type of schedule future employment would put me on.
I am not entirely proficient in any instrument, meaning I can't always promise something awesome via improv, but if I sit down, formulate, and practice I can usually accomplish anything. Guitar, mandolin, and bass are in the top 3. I have accordion experience and could learn songs, but not nearly as easily.
Celtic/folk/Renaissance are my favorite genres to learn/play on mandolin. Metal, acoustic, experimental, pretty much anything is great on guitar, not a fan of country or anything really poppy.
