ABOUT

I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and have always loved music. I started drumming when I was 14, played in various bands until I was 21 then life got in the way and I stopped playing until 2006. Back in the late 80's I was in an aCapella Jazz quintet singing bass, baritone and falsetto soprano. Of course that's years ago and my voice has changed dramatically. Since then I've worked hard to get my craft back in full swing. Drumming is a passion for me. I'm an energetic and young 50 year old both in attitude and appearance. More importantly, I'm never satisfied with my playing always seeking to be better. I really believe when you find your tribe, they lift you up and make you better. Finally in 2014 I started a Spokane group called the 18th street band. We disbanded in 2018 as we all had different priorities and some major life changes. But I'm ready to start another amazing group and maybe even pursue this long time passion. If you’re in for some fun, with a professional mindset, with a vision and a desire to do something special, I'm in.

My dad was a retired music teacher, choral master, chorus master and stage theatre director, so it's safe to say it's in my blood. My dream has always been to write, record, tour and possibly even get signed, it’s fun to dream. I'm a fun guy too, always looking to create fun in all I do.

I'm also a dedicated dad & husband, married nearly 30 years. My wife and family are fully supportive and love that my dream is to possibly tour with a big act one day. I say dream big and always be in possibility.

Influences

So many influences, it's hard to list them all. Safe to say, I love just about everything from the 80 classic top 40, to the metal head banger genre, to all current Radio play. I love it all. My favorite drummers are Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Neil Peart (Rush), Todd Sucherman (Styx), & my first drum teacher David Schneider (Winnipeg,Manitoba) & past high school friend Stephen Broadhurst (Amazing Drummer in Winnipeg, Manitoba).

I especially love artists that are not afraid to take some risk, create new sounds and want to get bold. I love bands with a big sound involving multiple artists to create a full with harmonizing vocals, multiple keys, maybe horns, multiple guitar, solid percussion and really solid bass.
