ABOUT

Multi-instrumentalist with vocal capabilities. Not a country or rap fan but will play anything an audience pays to hear! 30+ years experience from front porch to festival headliner. Classic rock and Irish pub music are what's paid the musical bills lately. I am not a smoker or a drug user (everyone in a pub band drinks now and then <L>). I do NOT have an ego problem and won't work with those who do.

Influences

Everything I can get my ears on. If you don't listen to everything, how do you keep an open mind musically and know what you like to hear and what you like to play?

EQUIPMENT

I play Martin and other acoustic guitars with LR Baggs installed, custom made concert cittern, Oscar Schmidt EB-5 banjo, handmade custom mandolin. I play an Epi Les Paul goldtop and a Variax into a Line6 HD500 on the electric side. Keyboards are an electric piano, Yamaha SY99 synth, and a not-portable all-original 1961 Hammond A-100 organ. There may be a couple more joining the list soon ... :)

PA is an XR18 mixer driving JBL EON 15" cabinets. 10" monitors and 15" bass cabinet driven by Crown amps; I wear AlienEars monitors. Feedback Destroyer in the rack. Mics are mostly 58s now. Shure and AKG wireless on all instruments.

I have a 24 channel digital recording rack that is in storage right now as nobody wants to buy it ... <L> That's a Mackie 1604 board driving 1500 watts of Samson Servo amps.

All snakes and cables too. Been using this stuff with Blackthorn and Laurel (Irish pub band) out on the road for five years, so it should be noted all this stuff is 100% paid for.
