ABOUT

Growing up "Deep down in Louisiana close to New Orleans, way back up in the woods among the evergreens", Kevin heard everything from country to opera, rhythm and blues, gospel, bluegrass, cajun, big band swing, classical, gypsy, celtic, rock and roll, heavy metal and everything in between! A true renaissance man, his passion for music of the baroque, classical, romantic and scientific periods, along with the the influence of the Celtic, gypsy (Rom) and folk melodies form the foundation for many of his own compositions.

Some of Kevin's musical influences include family and friends, old country and gospel, Glen Campbell, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Eric Johnson, Bob Hartman, Tuomas Holopainen, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John Pertucci, Jordan Rudess, Tina S, Dr. Viossy, Kevin Burke, and many, many others.

Some of his favorite composers are Kerry Livgren, Tuomas Holopainen, Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig Von Beethoven, and he is especially fascinated with the unparalleled virtuosity of violinist/guitarist/composer Nicolo Paganini. You will find elements of his many influences in his original compositions, blending classical with rock and metal producing his unique style, virtuosity, and spirit.

EQUIPMENT

He adds "My violin was hand made in Romania and imported by StringWorks. I play a modified Fender American Standard Stratocaster electric guitar and a Washburn Nuno Bettencort model. I prefer D'Addario strings for the electric guitars. My acoustic guitars are a Takamine and an Ovation/Applause acoustic strung with Adamas Phosphor Bronze steel strings and a Lucero classical nylon string guitar. I use Marshall, Fender, Randall and Peavey amplifiers as well as Boss, Digitech. and TC-Helicon digital signal processors, I currently use Roland, Yamaha, and Kawai synthesizers. My music composition and recording software includes Sonar X3l with the Dimension Pro soft synth with libraries of sampled orchestral instruments, Guitar Pro 6, and Harmony Assistant.
