ABOUT

ISO 3 piece cover band - Guitar, Bass, Drums, with all members proficient on vocals

I have been playing guitar for about 20 years as my primary instrument and started lessons at the age of 10. I studied at that the Paul Green School of Rock in high school and joined my first professional band when I was 16, with musicians in their 20s. I have studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusetts and went to Montclair State University for Jazz Guitar and Music Therapy. I dropped out of MSU to go to trade school for guitar building and repair in Canada and am proficient at setups and repairs. I have a couple guitars I have built from scratch, and would be more than happy to help any bandmates with their gear. I have also worked as a teacher and instructor for many students of all ages and worked as an open mic host.

I have been in a number of bands over the years, mostly cover bands and a few originals. My preferred setup has been a 3 piece (guitar, bass, and drums) because, at the time, it was good for splitting a paycheck and getting the job done. We were a cover band, and all brought our own songs, taking turns on lead vocals and backing each other on harmonies. I am however very open to playing with a larger group and writing/recording original material together.

The genres of music I have played are mostly classic rock, but I tend to play from an eclectic mix of influences and enjoy performing cover songs with my own take on the original versions.

When I jam I am often described as someone who plays in a "classic prog" style, although I honestly wouldn't be able to nail myself to any specific genre. I do my best to learn and practice from a diverse set of influences.

I would be very interested in getting together and jamming on some cover songs with a band and perhaps laying down some ideas for us to bounce around for originals. I am open to pretty much any genre and would have to say that my favorite way of playing with a group is by encouraging everybody to be comfortable in utilizing their best skills and influences. I believe that by giving other bandmates the freedom to express their best attributes, we can encourage and support each other to be the best versions of ourselves that we can be. Ultimately, I want everybody to feel and be successful. I am however also highly respectful of musicians who act and perform with a sense of humility and grace, please no big headedness.

If you are interested in getting together, please feel free to reach out.
