I'm a multi-instrumentalist who’s been involved with music most of my life. Early on, I concentrated on becoming a solo and ensemble vocalist, appearing at venues around the country. Following a life-changing illness, I used my love of music and desire to play/arrange/write as a major part of my recovery and taught myself to play 12 instruments.
Before moving to the Delaware shore early in 2020 to get married, I was living in West Virginia where I helped form/performed with musical groups including Straight BS, Mountain Classical, The Blackthorn Trio, and Musical Hedgesville. I also joined and performed with other groups in that 4-state area, including Cellos of Berkeley Springs. After moving to the shore, I rejoined my old musical partner Steve V.O. to form Duo Different.
As a composer/arranger, I have written and published my share of songs. A couple are even used during Summer Fiddle Camps in the Shenandoah Valley region. I’ve also had “my arranging fingers” in most of the music the Duo Different played.
Before being forced to retire, I took great pride in helping others experience the joy of making music by teaching beginners to play numerous stringed instruments. I also worked as a bowed string luthier. I loved repairing/restoring older forgotten/unloved instruments to provide reasonably priced alternatives for young people.
