My name is Rebecca Sparks. I am 34, and have been performing onstage since the age of 3. It started with dance recitals, completing 17 years of tap and jazz. Piano lessons started at an early age continuing for 7 years. During all this time, my father being a preacher, I was constantly singing at services and church events. I received "formal" vocal training throughout my high school years, constantly in competitions and performances (even Disney World every year for Christmas!) Several years after graduation, I was approached by a musician, while singing karaoke, who was looking for a female vocalist for both leads and backup. That same week, with no practice, we played a gig that was to determine if I was what they were looking for. We ended up playing together as a cover band for several years. We were booked 5-6 nights a week at different bars and private parties. We were also the house band weekly at a Holiday Inn Lounge, and had multiple bars book us on a consistent basis. I recently relocated to Reno, and am going crazy not performing anymore. I am seeking a similar opportunity with aspirations of moving forward in my music career.
