Influences

Bad Company, Robin Trower ("Bridge of Sighs" album), early Queen (1973 to 1978 ONLY), Montrose (with Sammy Hagar), early Elton John, Bad Company, Billy Joel, The Beatles, Tower of Power, Bob Seger, various Mowtown, Tom Waits, Peter Gabriel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Buddy Guy, Sammy Hagar, Tori Amos, Led Zeppelin, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder (early 70's only), Jeff Beck ("Blow by Blow" and "Wired" in particular), Kansas, All of the Beethoven Piano Sonatas and late String Quartets, Ozzy Osbourne (Only the Randy Rhoads stuff), Sheryl Crow (1st four albums only), James Taylor, Rush, Aerosmith, Johnny Lang, Keb Mo, Foreigner, The Wood Brothers,...I cannot name them all. Let's just say: I have eclectic influences and likes.

Strong song writing and multiple vocalists/harmonists are more important than any other element in my admiration of a band or artist. Without a strong song and good vocal harmonies, the strongest of instrumental performance is almost moot.
