I'd like to put together or join a metal band that falls into any of the various death metal, black metal, thrash metal and/or grind categories. I'm open to progressive, jazz and, classical elements too, as I love all of those genres as well.
The only things I don't want anything to do with is metalcore and emo...(and pretty much most "radio played" or "mainstream/pop" stuff).
My main musician skills are that I've been playing guitar (rhythm and lead) for 6 years and I've got quite a wide growling vocal range, think Chris Barnes (Cannibal Corpse) up through Chuck Schuldiner (Death) if I push it (or more realistically Jeff Walker (Carcass), Abbath (Immortal), Maurice Swinkles (Legion of the Damned; Occult).
I can also capably, yet unspectacularly cover relatively simple bass and piano/keyboard duties.
NOTE: I have minimal gigging experience due mainly to a lack of like-minded musicians, however, I have no problem performing and have done so a fair amount in other arenas of entertainment.
