Band to Join, Drums.

ABOUT

I play bass and guitar, sing, write songs, riffs, etc. I'm looking to hook up with a drummer for zero-drama, no-frills sonic mayhem inspired by sounds such as High On Fire, Black Cobra, The Hookers, Viking Skull, Type O Negative, Motorhead, old Metallica, Black Sabbath, etc. My goals are modest; I just want to jam/rehearse 1x a week, play out at the local dives 1x or 2x a month, kick ass, rock the f*ck out, destroy, devastate, punish, ravage, slaughter, demolish, lay to waste, obliterate, crush, subjugate, annihilate, etc. Maybe cut a record. I do not foresee serious touring or positive cash flow resulting from this.

I'm envisioning a two-piece: Drums and massively distorted bass guitar. Check the demo sample at /sonic-cave if you're curious or skeptical about whether this sound could work. I'm not firmly opposed to expanding to a three-piece in the future, but want to keep things as simple as possible to get started. I have more than enough songs, and am writing more all the time.

I'd like to find a drummer who is: competent, sane, reliable, honest, and a grownup with your sh*t together (income, a car, etc). A sense of humor is a near-must. Some vocal ability would be terrific.

About me: 38yo married dad w/ 2 small kids and real job. I don't have much spare time for this sort of thing, hence my modest goals and no-frills approach. I can rehearse 1x a week, any weeknight, only after 9 PM. I have more than adequate stage experience, skills, gear, inspiration, and passion to do this.

Maybe you're involved with a band but have time and energy to spare and would like a low-overhead, no-drama opportunity to deliver some instant-gratification sonic ass-whuppin on the side. Hit me up, let's do it.

Or perhaps you're in the same boat as me, burdened by real life, but you desperately want to get out and play. You're concerned that you don't have the time for a real band, and you're pretty sure that you'll never find bandmates who will understand that job and family will always take priority. Despair no more, I'm your man, hit me up, we can do this.

I have a couple of samples up (just bass and cheesy Garageband drums, no vox yet) at

/sonic-cave

and will be adding more in coming days and weeks.

Thanks for reading and take care.
