ABOUT

I've been involved with music all my life. I was the lead singer in an alternative band in the 80s and early 90s playing all original music. We mostly played at colleges and opened for a few slightly bigger acts from the time period. I also have experience in a recording studio. I started playing bass in the mid-90s and really love the instrument. I'm curious about opportunities to provide vocals and/or to play rhythm guitar or bass in a band again and don't mind doing covers. Just want to sharpen my abilities, meet great people and have fun.

Influences

Since I grew up with siblings who were all older than me, I was heavily influenced by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Moody Blues and other acts from the 60s. But I also love 80s alternate bands like early U2, the Smiths, Cocteau Twins, R.E.M., The Alarm, Psychedelic Furs, The Church, 77s, Chameleons UK, Throwing Muses, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions and many others. I also like bluegrass/Americana bands including Alison Krauss + Union Station, Nickel Creek, The Greencards, Luka Bloom and the Wailin' Jennys. Chris Isaak, Altan, Fleet Foxes, Nick Drake and Lyle Lovett are also influences. And, the Rutles... ;-)
