Please check out my songs to see if we might be musically compatible. I'm interested in finding players/singers on an even par to possibly co-write original songs and would be interested in assembling a local gigging band of like minded players. I prefer sets of original songs as well as some cherry picked covers, and that is how I plan to gig. I have a stand alone studio space with everything needed for rehearsal and recording. Gigging just once or twice a month on a regular basis would be great. I very much enjoy practicing. I like to have the music tight and right. No train wrecks. Practice makes perfect. The songs below are written by me, but for a few co-written with some lyricist friends. I'm not a fan of huge egos, and most musicians that have one can see that I don't.

Money SpentMoney Spent Words & music by Curtis Campbell © 2007 As life goes on it’s rocky trail We know not what ahead prevails It’s love we want, but can’t achieve Once loved and lost, so hard to believe Those that try, not knowing the way Wishing to love, but pushed away Alone again, and again, and again, and again Is love gone, like money spent? Freedom by day, like a mighty man Trapped at night, alone again Watching for eyes, with any spark Hoping the eyes can see my heart For in my heart, they could see The gentle soul that I can be Just make a move, my silent plea Any move, to make me see Alone again, and again, and again, and again Is love gone, like money spent? Is love gone, like money spent? Is love gone, like money spent? Alone again, and again, and again, and again Is love gone, like money spent? Is love gone, like money spent? Is love gone, like money spent?

Sad Blue Eyes
Sad Blue EyesSad Blue Eyes Campbell/Beaman©2004 I sat at the bar, just how long I don’t know The whiskey had my head just hangin’ low Something made me look up, something made me see A man with sad blue eyes staring back at me His hair had long turned grey, and the lines around those eyes….. Told his years of living in a world where no one cries I said “friend, why you look so down? Bartender bring us another round” He said “thanks” and he drank the whole thing down Then he told me of a lady he had loved so long ago Her smile was like the sunshine, her hair was like spun gold He told me how he loved her, and how he’d lost it all Then he hung his head, as the tears began to fall Sad blue eyes, don’t you know? They’re crying inside of your soul Sad blue eyes, can’t you see? That ain’t the way your life has to be The old man dried his sad blue eyes and he looked right up at me He said “if you’ve got a lover son, don’t you ever set her free” He said “life is like a whirlwind, blowin’ across the desert land When the wind that holds you up is gone, there’s nothin’ left but sand” Sad blue eyes, don’t you know? They’re crying inside of your soul Sad blue eyes, can’t you see? That ain’t the way your life has to be What the old man told me, it touched me deep inside Life just ain’t worth living if you run away and hide As I turned to go, those blue eyes haunted me I looked back and I realized, the old man…………… he was me Sad blue eyes, don’t you know? They’re crying inside of your soul Sad blue eyes, can’t you see? That ain’t the way your life has to be No, that ain’t the way our life has to be No, that ain’t the way my life has to be
