ABOUT

Hi, my name is Carlos and I am a professional musician with classical training in guitar. I have been playing the guitar for 17 years, and it is my main instrument. I play acoustic and electrical guitar, bass, piano, and can also perform vocals. At university in Bogata, I studied classical guitar, and then for 2 years, I studied Flamenco and Jazz guitar as part of my Master’s program.

My background and experience with guitar allows me to play a range of styles from Jazz to Blues, Bach, Rock, Flamenco, Latin, Improvisational, Experimental, Acoustic, Country ... the list goes on. At this moment my primary focus is jazz, but I am also open to playing other styles.

I am looking to form a band with other experienced musicians, to perform original music and also jazz (new or standards), with an open mind toward other genres and experimentation.

Ideally, I am seeking singers, pianists, percussionists, bass players, other guitarists, as well as those who play wind instruments. I am looking for individuals for a creative venture or project, but can also fill in should you need someone for a gig. I am also open to joining pre-existing musical projects or bands as well.

I’m located in Seattle, so I am available to play in the area. I moved to Seattle from Chicago very recently. One of main motivations for moving here was to pursue a career in music, and I am looking forward to meeting like-minded people, passionate about pursuing the same thing.
