ABOUT

Hello, I am Carrie Higgins, and I am a very talented singer and songwriter with a soulful, spirited style of singing in an alto- mezzo soprano range and a strength in improvisation. I have a grand vision to move and connect with people with spiritual (not Christian) messages set in a pop-ish kind of style that could include rock, jazz or blues influences. I am ready to join a band of fellow artists who share my sense of spirituality, desire to live in a higher paradigm, and vision for bringing powerful, original, and innovative melody to audiences. I am working on the songs to go on the first CD that these individuals and I will record and market (I am writing the lyrics and the vocal melody, later the band will be co-writers to come up with the instrumentals, harmony and fine-tuning). In fact, I have a very good marketing resource right now who is ready to give us world-wide exposure. So, the resources are showing up making themselves available.
I am a leader and front person with an attitude of being of service, bringing the messages I write and sing to audiences, facilitating healing and spiritual empowerment. My main instrument is my voice; I know some beginning keyboard and music theory, but I don’t play any other instruments well enough to claim them for a performance yet. I would really like to become a better technical musician and I would be grateful to my band members for helping me get there. As of today, I have about a year’s worth of live performing experience, so I’m ready for that to grow. I will be ready for 3 performances a week within the next few months. This is my primary focus and I’m very committed to it; it’s also my greatest joy! 
My band will be a group of individuals happy and willing to support that larger message and contribute their gifts to it. I have a lot of songs that I’m writing and will write that need to come through me to reach others, so it’s important that I have the support of my band members for focusing the band’s identity and image on what I (and we) have to give. And, since I am a person focused on "it can be done" and "let's go all the way, why not?" the musicians in my band not only need to be able to see themselves touring nationwide, but also worldwide with a trusting and expansive attitude, which is one area where the spirituality comes in. I envision performing at places like the Mesa Arts Center, amphitheaters, some day Radio City Music Hall....and I am still coming up with a list of specific types of venues, but basically my favorites are performance halls that welcome 300-500 because of the intimate setting. I would also very much love to reach people on the radio so I welcome time on the pop charts and larger concert venues than the ones I mentioned. I envision that our shows will be part music concert, part motivational speaking conference, and even somewhere down the line, part product showcase (I will also be producing very unconventional children’s stories featuring non-earthly/physical beings interacting with people – on CD. I see that being pre or post-show). For the music concert part, there will be us, eventual guest performers, and a regular segment showcasing a group of kids singing songs they have written with help from me and instruction from the music academy that I will start someday too. Here, the right musicians would need to have an affinity for kids, maybe even a passion or sense of child advocacy similar to mine, as my path includes empowering kids to access the power of music in themselves. During the motivational speaking part, I will be speaking to the audience and I would like to invite guest speakers such as Ken Blanchard, Will Marre or Wayne Dyer to name a couple. As you can see, I have tons of vision for the music and other voice talent products I create with the right bunch of people. I just need support and resources equal to the amount of vision I have.
