Through the School of Music, Miss Jackson has had the opportunity to attend master classes with world renowned vocalists, including Stephanie Blythe. Last fall, Miss Jackson performed with the University of Illinois Chorale and the Sinfonia da Camera to create the first recording of William Schuman's On Freedom's Ground. Miss Jackson currently studies voice with renowned opera singer Sylvia Stone.

Miss Jackson has an eclectic background in music; she has performed as Vi Moore in Footloose with D’Evelyn Theatre and sang in Altitude, a small, mixed jazz a cappella group, that toured all through France and the Rocky Mountain Region. Before attending the University of Illinois, Miss Jackson studied with Winifred Hartman, an esteemed and seasoned opera singer in the Denver region. In the summers, Miss Jackson has the wonderful opportunity to study with world renowned artists at the Aspen Music Festival and School, learning from vocalists such as Elizabeth Hynes and Michelle DeYoung. She also had the opportunity to participate in master classes with James Conlon, Tom Beusch, Alan Fletcher, Irene Gubrud and Joan Gordon. Additionally, Miss Jackson has four years of conducting experience under the direction of lauded conductor Leslie Britton. Miss Jackson is also fully capable of managerial positions; she was the assistant director to the show Bells Are Ringing and was the house manager for The Pajama Game with D’Evelyn Theatre.

Cassandra Jackson is capable of singing repertoire in the mezzo-soprano range with pieces varying from lighter works such as “Voi che sapete,” from Le Nozze di Figaro to more dramatic roles such as “Pie Jesu,” from the Duruflé Requiem.
