Catylyst is a hard hitting, power rock band from Southwest Minnesota. Forming in September of 2009, they played their first headlined show just one month later. Since then, they have played several shows and are already set to record their first l.p. in April. With a slew of band influences including classic rock artists Led Zepellin and Rush, heavy metal bands Skid Row, Guns N’ Roses, and Poison, modern alternative bands John Mayer and Lifehouse, and current metal acts such as The Classic Crime, Avenged Sevenfold, August Burns Red, and Chevelle, Catylyst is poised to take the Midwest by storm with their aggressive, guitar driven sound.
Catylyst, which began with a simple online conversation between Mark and Danny about starting an “Acoustic driven indie-alt band,” has been through several members before settling with its current core of Danny Lane (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mark Randolph (bass, bg vocals), Zach McCoy (lead guitar), and Tyler Van Kley (drums, bg vocals) and has blossomed into a powerful hard rock act. With the pending new album, Catylyst is ready to flood this hard rock world with their signature sound.
