ABOUT
I am a working musician. I have a daytime gig as a human resource manager and I play in my off time depending on the gig. I can read and write charts and have done recordings and also been on a world tour. I don't like to spend a lot of time rehearsing, which is why I tend to prefer and accepts gigs where there are charts and I don't have to rely so much on memorizing material.
Over the past 3-4 years, I've played most of the major local jazz festivals backing world-renown smooth jazz artists to include Gerald Albright, Everette Harp, Eric Marienthal, Steve Cole, Cindy Bradley, Althea' Rene, Dean James, Jackiem Joyner, Richard Elliott and more.
I want to help raise awareness across the country that San Antonio has some top-notch musicians who can hit as well as those in the music centers (CA, NY, etc.).

EQUIPMENT
My main guitar is a Michael Kelly Hybrid and my gear is mostly Line 6 gear. My guitar goes through the Pod X3 Live pedalboard and into a Line 6 Spider 112 tube amp. I also own a Brian Moore i-Guitar, a Line 6 Variax, an Ibanez Talman acoustic and an Aria Semi-hollow body.

The backup band will also feature Chris Knox II (my son) - Drums, Sean Byrd - Bass, & Chris Villanueva - Keyboards. There will be an all-female jam to close out the event that will also include Jessy J, Dana Robbins & Stacey Knights.

I'll be playing on Saturday, Apr 6, 2013, with the legendary Euge Groove in the last week (#6) of the Spring Jazz series at the Shops of La Cantera. The event is FREE (just bring your lawn chairs). The show starts at 7:30p. The band will also feature my son, Chris II - Drums, Pat Carey - Bass, & James Burt - Keys. This is going to be an awesome show!!
I will be playing another amazing evening of cool jazz headlined by one of the coolest jazz sax players on the planet, Steve Cole. Steve will be playing all of his hits from the last 12 years of his career and his special guest will be R&B/Jazz vocalist Randy Darbonne.
The evening will begin with a delicious jazz buffet prepared by Chef Dwight at The Plaza Club at 7pm. We will begin the show at 8:45pm. Please purchase your tickets early for a wonderful night of great food and COOL JAZZ. FREE parking available in The Frost Bank Parking garage.
I will be playing guitar backing headliner, Jackiem Joyner for the final week of the jazz festival at Crossroads mall (a.k.a. Wonderland of the Americas). This is an outdoor event that begins at 7p also featuring "The Brew" out of Austin, TX.
