ABOUT

I am a singer/songwriter/ recording artist who just moved to Nashville (June 3, 2013) looking to find a guitarist or pianist to accompany me at local gigs. I am wanting to put a set together with a someone who is interested in being a permanent member of my band. I sing in a variety of musical genres and have a 3 1/2 octave range. I have two CDs (1. Havana Rain (Big Band Latin Jazz in Spanish/English) /2. Portrait of The Goddess/ Musical Mythology (World Music). I plan on singing Country, Country-Swing, Bluegrass and Southern Gospel. I also will be doing jazz gigs (big-band/american songbook/ standards and jazz originals). I will be mixing in some Folk songs with my Country set (Joanie Mitchell/ Carole King), along with Bonnie Rait style blues, acoustic, for certain gigs/performances. I am looking for someone who can read music and who is very skilled as an accompanist in a variety of styles. If you can sing harmony, all the better.

I am an entertainer that has and does wear many hats, performs in a variety of venues, in multiple genres.

I plan on singing Southern Gospel music and would need an accompanist for those performances as well.

I am married to a Magician and we have a 4 year old son who I named Dylan because I am a huge Bob Dylan fan :).

Influences

My influences are Classic- Country SIngers and Songwriters (Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash) as well as the Vintage-Country-Swing performers from the Swing Era (Bob Wills), along with Western music -- like songs from Roy Rogers. I am also a huge admirer of BIG Band singers of yesterday and great crooners of today. I also love 60's and 70's classic rock/folk singers (The Beatles/Stevie Nicks/Linda Ronstad) and songwriters. I respect real and raw talent. I love singers that have soul-filled voices, and songs that make an impact. I admire artists that have had the power to influence culture and generations. I love musical theater and cabaret music and entertainers who possess the quadruple threats of singing, dancing, songwriting, acting, producing and the inexplicable magic that one is given as a gift that no one can manufacture.

EQUIPMENT

I have an upright piano, a keyboard, acoustic guitar, multiple microphones, amplifiers, tambourine and Tibetan singing bowl and a rehearsal room.
