I'm just starting my 40's.
I started playing in bands in 1987, before I could play at all. Went from house parties to halls, clubs, fests, and eventually on to a few tours.
In my 20's I was the guitar player, singer and main songwriter for a lot of bands. The 2 most successful and long lived were 3 out of 4 and Kansas City Stars.
The former was the closest thing to a Punk band I felt comfortable with in the 90's. We booked our own shown and tours. Made our own records (with a little help) did shirts, stickers and for the most part really made the most of the action going down in them days.
KCS was not to different. Still high energy scrappy and abrasive. By my mid 20's we added to our basic punk sound. A solid sound but one being done well by manny bands.
We let our love of T. Rex, Stones, Replacements, Real Kids, Elvis Costello, undertones, r. Birdman,
Jonny Thunders, Dead Boys, and well......rock and roll take a place up front in the sound. I love Chuck Berry, Roger Miller and Hank Williams.
So much great rock and roll is to my ear just Punk.
Sonics, so respectable by the stones......
And of course the mighty KINKS!!
We did a split 7 with Los Fererales from Tucson.
Went on tour. Broke up.
Then I really took a year off playing music except for busking in san Francisco's BART system.
I have a little rock act going on now but am interested in inspiring people.
I have also played the drums for 20 years. I'm really looking for a powerful band to bang a beat in.
Hardcore, power pop, surf, glam, 77 snotty Barr chord blare band? Country??
If it's real I can tell. If I can get behind it I'll play drums for you.
Don't be scared, my blood is punk but I love sappy songwriter stuff....
Just hit me up ok.
Getting older as i type.
