ABOUT

Born and raised on the South side of Chicago, Charles Twilley is a talented and seasoned Jazz saxophonist who moved to South Carolina from Las Vegas in 2009. He came down to play with his old friend from the 60s, Mac Arnold, Mr. Blues himself, for one of Mac’s Annual Cornbread and Collard Greens festivals and decided to stay.
Charles has over 60 years’ experience as a saxophonist, playing both Top 40 and Smooth Jazz genre.
During his tenure of performing from Chicago to Las Vegas and now South Carolina, he has enjoyed banding with The Soul Invaders (Chicago, IL), Color Coated Brown (CCB) (Las Vegas, NV), Jazz Smith and Company (Greenville, SC) and Funk Factory 5 (Atlanta, GA).
Although Charles truly enjoys playing with his fellow musicians and friends, he is now “doing his own thing”. He is back to focusing on his smooth jazz genre with a renewed and rejuvenated spirit...and loving every minute of it. He is committed, dedicated, talented and downright serious about his “new thing”. His soulful expressions and powerful explosion of soulful sounds has simply refined with time. Charles is not only a distinguished gent, but he also vows to keep on keeping on for as long as the God-in-him blesses him to do so.
Still making his home in the beautiful state of South Carolina (Simpsonville) with his lovely wife, Linda K., he has not only shared some of his memorable stories as a Chicago meter reader in his newly published book, “Hot Tales of CT the Meter Reader”, but he has also just released his first CD, “Soulful Rhythms”, for your listening pleasure. Contact us for your autographed copy of the CD and/or book at 702-498-3128 or via email at lktwilley.
