The Charles Grace Band is now forming to become Ohio's premier dance funk band, bringing not only the music, but the legendary live performances of a classic Funkband show to the Tri-State area. Bands we will cover include,The Dazz band, Lakeside, Sun,The Ohio Players, Slave, The Isley Brothers, Mothers Finest, Brick,The Commodores, Heatwave ,Parlament Funkadelic and others along these lines.
Why these bands? In every style of modern music that is centered around a groove, the influence of these bands can be heard. Whether any particular artist knows it or not, Funkbands played a major role in the creation of their music.After much research and thought, I thought it to be very necessary to pay homage to these incredible bands. Like a crusader of the funk, I decided that it would be shear blasphemy to not spread the word of early Funk music.
So if like me,you are searching for something new,fresh and music that takes you away from being "just another cover band",I invite you to contact us for information in regards to audition locations and dates. Please email us for a setlist. Also take a listen to some of the great music these bands created. CGB will focus on Funk songs from the 70's to mid 80's as performed by these Dance Funk bands .You will be able to stretch out and explore your musical talents as much of the songs we do in tribute to these great bands will allow for member interpretations of the songs,No real book here,just playing from the gut and bringing the Funk. With that being said we are seeking t he following Funkateers to fill the following positions in the band.
Synth / Moog player,Keys (vocal ability is a plus)
Horn players.
Percussions.
