You can me at cheskacolombo
I’m a vocalist who is most experienced in alternative/punk rock and really into progressive rock - especially with a theatrical edge. Im really open to most things and like to sing many types of music, but I’d love to be in a punk, prog or melodic punk band. I have a pretty dynamic voice and like to yell and get weird it - i’m good at being belty but also love a good gang vocal or 3 part harmony. I usually write lyrics to songs my bandmates wrote but I also write on my own and like to build with a band from there, and I dont mind singing songs another bandmate has written. I used to be in a band called A Verbal Equinox who played out a LOT and had one record, and I wrote a solo EP under the name Cheska & Friends that was mainly a studio project. Ive also done studio work for a lot of my classmates in college as well as fellow musician friends. Im opening a new rehearsal space in Wallington this summer, so we would always have a fully equipped place to rehearse. NJ people will probably be the easiest to connect with, as my job has me work weird hours.
I'd like to work with people around my age (within 10 years or so, I'm not super picky or anything, just want to relate with who I'm playing with!) and I'm cool with booking, band social media, and management stuff.
Here's some links to some older stuff - most of it is at least 3 years old so I've grown a lot, but I haven't put much new out because I need a band!
A Verbal Equinox - my last band, very avant garde theatrical punk: ://averbalequinox./
Cheska & Friends - an EP I put out in college, with the help of various friends as well as my own programming and accompaniment.
- don't have too much on there, but there's a few covers and instrumental projects

Nun Song Ukulele Cover - OITNB #ORANGECON Fan Submission
Nun Song Ukulele Cover - OITNB #ORANGECON Fan SubmissionI really want to go to #OrangeCon in NYC to celebrate the 3rd season of Orange Is The New Black - and this gave me an excuse to finally record that cover of O'Neill's Nun Song that I've wanted to make for a year now. It was a total rush job recording in my laptop microphone so the quality isn't great at all - but submissions end today so I gave it the ol' punk rock try. Enjoy!
"She" - Green Day Cover
"She" - Green Day CoverA bunch of bands put out a bunch of Green Day covers that I hate. This may not sound any better, but I love Green Day and this is my go-to uke song so I figured I'd share!
One-Take Jerome Cover
One-Take Jerome CoverI had 30 mins before therapy and figured I'd download a karaoke track of Lizzo's Jerome and try to sing over it one time after singing it in my car 100000000 million times and just keep whatever the result was. Hope you enjoy! PS: at the end they just decided to add some weird backup vocals, so the last "Don't cry for me baby" is me singing with this mystery woman and then she makes a sound at the end that isn't me. Other than that, it's allllllllll naturale baby
