My primary influences until recently have been renaissance performers. I've spent a fair amount of time there, listening to their music. I enjoyed it. Spent a year with a band at the faire, and decided that it wasn't particularly for me due to clashes between musicians.
I enjoy cover songs, primarily. I am certainly not against writing, or putting music to stuff that others have written, but I tend towards "interpretations" of songs (not the original, but a version thereof).
While I'm getting better musically, I still don't site read. I have a fair understanding of music theory, and it's getting better daily. Primarily one of the reasons I'm on here is to find people to jam and get better with.
