ABOUT

My long time bestest buddy (Kevin) and I are looking for a bass player and drummer to complete our project. I am the fingers of the operation, he is the throat. My buddy and I played together in an 80s hairband but went our separate ways for awhile, now looking to form a new act. We are planning to go with a rock style with a more hard rock edge, a bit more aggressive lead style but not 80's hairband. My buddy has a punk edge to him. He is a great front man, very entertaining, funny as hell and I think we complement each other well. I'm skilled in theory and he is a more fly off the cuff Wildman. He is a good guitar player, bass player, drummer, banjo, whatever. I just play guitar and not much of a singer but will do some backups. We plan to have one guitar, bass player, drummer, Kevin will sing and play some guitar. The bass player should have some backup vocal skills, drummer would be nice to have some vocal talent but not a must. A package bass player and drummer would be great too. I have done quite a few gigs, Kevin has performed massive amounts of gigs and he is playing out now but will commit as we grow. We are looking for good people first but skill set is a must. Our standard is, you need to be a better bass player and/or drummer than he is.

Influences

The Rival Sons are on the top of MY list, they are the epitome of rock IMO. After that, the sky is the limit. 70's, 80's, 90's Led Zep, VH, AC/DC, Dokken, GnR, Lynch Mob, too many to list really. My buddy is much of the same but he likes a lot of punk type stuff. I will follow up with his favorites later. I have played country and Kevin seems to play just about anything and everything.

EQUIPMENT

We are pretty set with gear. I just purchased a new guitar rig and plan to buy a couple more guitars to prepare to gig, just not sure of exactly what guitars I plan to use yet. We have a PA and lighting. You will need your own rigs of course but I have a really nice electronic drum kit for auditions, so should be easy to swing through and see who fits in with us.
