ABOUT

Hi there! I'm Chris Hayzel. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer and I've just recently moved to Las Vegas from Nashville. I grew up playing and touring in bands from age 13, but for the last 8 years or so have been performing and releasing music solo (aside from a brief and super fun Queens of the Stoneage tribute in Nashville). All of my music in that time has been self produced from writing, to recording, to mastering, and while I love the process of running with an idea and am grateful for the ability to flesh it out at my own pace, I'm getting pretty bored with myself :P. I'm looking for collaborative musicians who like to explore different corners of music and want to create for the sake of creating, without fear of pushing one another's boundaries and encouraging each other to think outside of the box. I've found that creative partnerships are a lot like dating; sometimes you've got the chemistry, sometimes you don't. But I'm hoping to find like minded creatives who just want to let the creative process guide the experience without placing too many expectations on it. I play a lot of different instruments and have no preference on which role I occupy, as long as it's the best fit with whoever else is present and collaborating. I don't have a specific genre in mind, though I do tend to lean toward the rock side of things. I also spent a good portion of my life as a film composer, so I like to tie in cinematic elements like strings and ambient textures to create a world that draws the listener in. Anyway, I hope this finds you in good health and I look forward to possibly collaborating with you!
