ABOUT

My name is Christopher Cathode. KowntaKt att fayse.bowk doT calm pleasE.
I am probably best known for my role in Maine's electronic / avant-grade scene over the past decade and a half. I am one of the co-conspirators of Fran Szostek's FRANTASIA FESTIVAL of OUT MUSIC and ARTS, which takes place annually in Livermore Falls, Maine. I am 43 years old, married, chem-free (not Orthodox) and I reside in Lewiston, Maine. Non-smoker.
I am employed by Central Maine Medical Center & the Maine College of Health Professions as a medical Radiographer & clinical instructor for the College. I have held said employment with same employer for 15 years.
I have played drums and percussion (ranging in styles and interests) for 35 years, beginning lessons at the age of 8.
I am currently seeking a paying Wedding / function band gig; I have a dependable, 2015 Chevy hatchback, pro equipment, a variety of equipment to choose from. I would love it if this function band would be Italian - meaning, playing traditional Italian weddings/events and specializing in the Italian classics and common instrumentation (example: accordion)
If not used for drum set, my approach to playing all matter of world & hand percussion is achieved using a custom MIDI controller that I play called a ZENDRUM (pictured in some of my photos.) this instrument is highly programmable, technical and ultra-sensitive, and it is how I perform on all matter of tambourine, shakers, blocks, Latin percussion, chimes, windchimes, castanets, etc, etc ... Very versatile, professional, visually stimulating and user friendly. I also play the (traps) drum set.
In addition to Italian, very comfortable playing "vintage"/ retro 60s, 70s & 80s soft hits and what I like to refer to as "misplaced classics" ...
Can I play? YES. References are available upon request. I am a very fast learner. I do not sight read. I can learn any arrangement, but this kind of music, to me, is all about MOOD, VIBE, TEMPO, & communicating with the ensemble AND the audience. To me, this is VITAL.
I welcome questions, dialogue, open communication & a meet-up if the inquiry seems serious 2077406083TexTonleee //
Why a band? This kind of music gets me charged. It is what I listen to for enjoyment.
The state of the healthcare industry, currently, in Maine is like a rocky shore, and the government is in the midst of trying to navigate these bumpy waters. I am good at my job - but I'm also realistic - and I know it could be in jeopardy tomorrow or the next day. Hopefully not!
However ... I would like another form of income to supplement my work in medicine, should the winds blow "that way".
I am a team player and, above all, I approach music and my role in it VERY, very seriously, passionately & professionally.
Experimental Electronic }{ Stereophonic Operations (e_E.S.O.) is the name I use in reference to my solo, electronic live & recorded material.
