ABOUT

Shakedown At The Majestic is a power pop band from New York City. Their signature style involves tightly woven harmonies and interweaving vocal melodies, drawing from rock and pop's early years but delivering something altogether fresh. They have played the finals of the NYC Emergenza Music Festival, and were a headliner at the "Liahonaroo" music festival in 2012, held in Nashville.

We formed in New York City several years ago, and played dozens of venues in the NYC area, but the lead singer/guitarist (Chris) and drummer/singer (Taylor) recently moved to Utah, and are looking to play shows with a new bassist and lead guitarist/keyboardist as soon as possible. We are also currently about to release an EP (see below) and are working on a full-length album.

Check out this page for teaser tracks from our upcoming EP, to be released later this summer/early fall:

Members Of Band

Chris Vermillion - guitar, vocals
Taylor Nimtz - guitar vocals

Currently seeking:

1) a bassist who can sing (we do 3-part harmonies on every song!)

2) a lead guitarist. - doesn't have to be a shredder, but someone who can come up with tasteful guitar parts to music with sometimes complex chord changes. If you can play simple keyboard parts and/or sing some backup vocals, that's a plus, but not required.

You must have your own equipment, be available to practice 1-2 times per week, please.

To contact Chris, please email majesticshakedown. Thanks!

EQUIPMENT

I play an american tele, through a Vox amp. Taylor has some good drums. We practice at Taylor's place in South Jordan, are looking to buy a PA system so we can have mics to practice with.
