ABOUT

Looking for Hard-Rock Bandmates

Since my teens, playing guitar has been one of my life's biggest passions. I had a band in high school. But then I grew up and did the grown-up stuff, while the guitar collected dust.
In the last couple of years, I've picked it back up. It's been tremendously satisfying to get back into music -- in fact, I see it as something that I HAVE to do. When pondering my life's possible outcomes, hardly anything seems as loathsome as the thought that I will go "to the grave with the song still in me."
I am forming a band. The intent is NOT to have some dad-band, over-the-hill-band, weekend-band, etc. (Not meant to be a dig at anyone.) I don't want it to be something that is the spare-time "hobby" of people who think that the mode of life they now experience is what stretches to their horizon and beyond. We will all need to be the kind of people who are willing to impose our will upon our circumstances and and radically alter them in order to enjoy the rewards of creativity. We to have a fully respectable professional band wholly committed to success, fully committed to going the "long way to the top" as Bon Scott would say. Everybody contributes something integral. It's not MY band or YOUR band, but OUR band. I will look as long as it takes to find people who share that vision.
I have 3 kids that I love and own a successful small business. I'm certainly not going to torpedo these things, but I'm also not going to "tell myself" that these things prevent me from reaching my goals.
We get 4 or 5 people together who share this motivation and we will do amazing things.
My vision for this band is to produce music that is strong, energetic, soulful, fun, and, when serious, speaks primarily to the human condition and the societal condition. Liberty, personal freedom, self-determination, and masculinity in spite of the feminized society -- not cheesy, but expressed with artistic subtlety. Almost like Gorilla Mindset set to music.
My biggest musical influences are Metallica and Stevie Ray Vaughan (perhaps an odd pairing, but I love the power and the soul). I also love Hendrix, a bunch of classic rock, and Gypsy guitar.
I am looking for a bass player, drummer, and another guitar player. I can do leads/rhythm and vocals. Solid playing ability, excellent grasp of music theory. I can also do vocals while playing.
I bring a lot of gear and songwriting to the table. I am drug-free and hardly drink at all. Punctual, reliable, and easy-going. As a small business owner I insist on working with people who are also competent and thoroughly self-disciplined.
Message me for details.

PS -- thanks to all who have help me to refine this posting. Best regards.
