ABOUT

I am 26 years old, I have been singing since I was 2 years old and at 2 years old I had my first performance with my Papa Rod Ford at a square dance that he and my grandmother were calling and there were about eight squares I would say and I sang Hernando's Hideaway with him in front of everyone. I have been in vocal lessons since I was about 9 or 10 years old and my last vocal teacher was training me to sing and perform Opera. I had private lessons for about 6 years straight once to twice weekly sometimes more depending if I was going to perform for fun or for competition. I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to vocalism and I push myself everyday to know more than I already do and I try to make my best better everyday in my life. I have taken some piano lessons and guitar lessons but due to money being tight when I was younger I had to choose one out of everything that I did and I chose to stay with my vocal over piano, guitar, or anything else. So I mainly play by ear but I can read notes as well just not very in-depth when it comes to reading sheet music I am still learning. I take singing very seriously and I do write music as well, I love all genres of music, and I have a very wide range when it comes to my vocals I can sing and sound like Evanescence one second, Carrie Underwood another second, Fergie, I can freestyle rap, I can break glass with high notes and literally go to the high end of a piano when warming up when practicing, I have sang Opera, English, Italian, German, I have sang country, R&B, jazz, Blues, Rock, rap, pop, Hip Hop, religious and gospel, Christmas and Holiday, and so much more. My third cousin is June Carter Cash which is Johnny Cash's wife my mama got to meet her but I sadly did not get the opportunity to that my mother said she was a very very sweet lady one of the sweetest people she's ever met in her life and I love her music and I love how motivated she was and how very passionate about her songs and music she was. She cared about everyone and everything as do I.

Influences

My biggest influence with pursuing my life as a vocalist was my mother and she still is and she will always be even though she has went to a better place. I lost my mother a couple of years ago on March 19th of 2018 at 10:10 p.m. and my mother had told me before she passed away to never give up singing to pursue my dreams of becoming a singer and I will never give up and I will honor my mother's request. December 8th 2017 I was selected to go to Houston Texas to the George R Brown Convention Center and audition for America's Got Talent and it made her more proud than anything and she told me that she was proud of me for never giving up and even though I did not place in the auditions it was a great experience and it was a moment for me and my mother that I will never forget and I'm very proud that I could make her proud especially before she passed away.
