This cover of Duran Duran's The chauffeur is based on four versions of the song. The intro and first verse are similar to the version that appears on the Rio album, but you'll hear a piano that is influenced by the Arena version. The second verse adds fretless bass as in the Sing blue silver demo. The third verse is a mashup of the Rio album, Arena, the Sing blue silver demo and modern Duran Duran, complete with acoustic guitars and a drop D bass guitar. The ending features an ocarina solo similar to the one from Arena. The vocals come from the Sing blue silver demo, the ocarinas come from a Fairlight clone .. it's exactly the same patch that Nick Rhodes talked about in the May 1984 issue of Keyboard Magazine, and there are samples from an old British documentary about insects.

ABOUT

Classiomatica is an attempt to faithfully re-create Duran Duran's classic Rio album. Over the course of 394 hours/206 days, every attempt was made to use either the same keyboards, guitars, amps, drums, mics and effects that the band used back in 1982, their modern re-issues, or as close to the original makes and models as possible.
