ABOUT

I've been playing guitar for about 5 years now, but only really started getting serious with it in about mid '05, and recently have been getting sick and tired of not being able to find other like minded musicians to possibly consider playing with.
I have been actively playing guitar and backup vox in my brother's band, "The Stacy Keach Peach Brigade" where we play Primus covers as well as some original tunes, and though I enjoy playing with the band, I'd like to get my own style of music going.
I tried starting a band recently called "My Location Relative to the Sun" along the lines of the style I'd like to follow (Noise/Jazz/techcore/etc.) with my bro and a friend, but neither of them seemed really hard up for the same style of music....not to say we'll NEVER work together on the band, but at this juncture it seems I need to find others.
I would consider my skill at a moderate level...enough to do some decent rhythm work. I'd like to find musicians of either similar ability, or greater so long as they're willing to put up with my ass hehe.

Influences

Man...this list is long and convoluted...so I'll try to cover most of my bases:

The Dillinger Escape Plan,
PsyOpus,
Primus,
Neil Young,
Pink Floyd,
Destroyer Destroyer,
The Sawtooth Grin,
Rush,
Stone Temple Pilots,
Tool,
The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza,
The Number Twelve Looks Like You,
System of a Down,
The Mars Volta,
Melt-Banana,
The Locust,
Daughters,
Ed Gein,
As the Sun Sets,
Exit the King,
Secretary,
Me and Him Call it Us,
Every Time I Die,
HeavyHeavyLowLow,
Test Switch Isolator

....If I think of some more I'll post em hehe. And that list is in no real particular order, but DEP is prolly my biggest influence.

EQUIPMENT

As of right now....not much. I do plan on upgrading here soon, and my dad lets me borrow some of his gear for playing shows.

What I own:
B.C. Rich Bronze Warlock,
Marshall 15W Practice Amp

What I borrow:
Gibson Explorer (81 I believe...),
Gibson Melody Maker (60s Era),
Marshall 100W half stack

As I said, I do intend on soon upgrading my personal equipment, particularly if I can actually get a band going.
