Situated just below industrial Williamsburg, Brooklyn, Copperfish Sound is an echo chamber for an old-world Mississippi juke joint. Copperfish contains all the amenities necessary for any recording project, but one of the studio's special advantages come from its down-home comforts. It's got good vibes.
The studio has two large spaces. The opening lounge boasts a record collection, a media shelf, a production nest with an inviting couch, racks of gear, and a 'getaway' nook. Tall walls with deep primary colors and top-notch baffling gives the lounge a competitive edge with the main studio. The high ceilings, bar-style lighting, and relaxing atmosphere lend an antique touch.
The main studio has four keyboards, a guitar and vocal station, a bass station, and a large drum setup. A wall of large, open-air windows allow for sunlight, while beautiful drapes control how much of the outside you want in. Warm, antique carpets cover the floors. A scrap wood-based abstract artwork on the main wall doubles as an acoustic mirror. A dozen guitars sit waiting by the vibrophone. The set-up is ideal for bands tracking live and actively communicating. Musicians have personal space behind waist-high walls to encourage focus while retaining visibility.
Copperfish exudes the romance of a lush, southern boarding house for rock n'roll. The lounge and studio designs complement each other, and provide a rich gateway for stretching the body and mind. Copperfish is a dreamy dimension for creating new sounds.
