ABOUT

It's hard to describe exactly what I'm looking for sound-wise. A mixture of Chasing Furies, The Kills, Counting Crows, Sarah McLachlan, Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Jon Bon Jovi's Young Guns II soundtrack/Blaze of Glory, theme music form Carnivale....

... chunky noise-pop guitars, acoustic instruments [piano, dobro, banjo (no, don't think 'Deliverence'!), guitars, clarinet, trumpet], strong, deep bass ACCENTING songs, not plodding all over them, drums and percussion played with intricate finesse AND power, sublties, not under, not over stating anything, just making the statement; vintage keyboards/synths, loops providing a huge canvas on which to create our holes and statements; a haunted desert theme; for vocals I'm picturing Chasing Furies style, which is a lot like early Heart style... strong female vox, harmonizing.... But I also have a lot of songs already written from the male perspective that we could use.

I'm better on the bass than I am on the guitar, and my bass set-up is a lot better than my guitar set-up. But at some point or another I would like to be one of the guitar noise makers... especially once I get a Gretsch baritone guitar! I could also possibly be the one that 'floats' around between some of the other bit-part instruments. I also sing and love singing... I guess I'm a baritone. I'm looking for a drummist (someone with more finesse than your basic skin-pounder), piano/vintage keys player, noise-pop/chunky guitarist, acoustic strings (guitar, dobro, 6-string banjo, whatever else would fit) player, someone who is synth/loop happy, vocalist(s). Of course, roles can be combined. Email me coyotessong(at)(dot)com!!
