SEEKINGBand to Join, Bass Guitar, Drums, Keyboard, Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Vocalist.
My name is Phillip Tackett; my musical alias is known as "Crimson Cyclo." My upcoming works are a blend of [mainly] progressive, alternative, and sometimes jazz & blues-related rock. I'm currently in the process of recording samples/demos of my work, which I have been practicing on-and-off with in the past 2 years. Though I have a slightly busy schedule, I am hoping to try and squeeze in more time for session practices both for myself, and any any local rock bands in the Charlotte, North Carolina area that are looking for a new musician (preferably a bassist or drummer).
NOTE: I'm a student who has school from late August to early December (9am to 3pm Mondays/Fridays; 9am-6pm Wednesdays), and I also work part-time at a theater, meaning my weeknights are sometimes partially booked. This means what time I have off will vary.

Night Owl (Crimson Cyclo)
Night Owl (Crimson Cyclo)Today (December 12th, 2015), a song bunny- a musical equivalent of a "plot bunny" in writing- popped in my head as I was strumming away on my guitar. Immediately, I took to my microphone & Reaper audio program and recorded the riff. On top of that, I decided to back it up with my bass guitar and drumkit. 5 hours and a bit of sound mixing later, this was the result. My biggest influences in my love for music mostly range from progressive rock, but some of my earliest ones stem from blues and folk. Mainly, this was due to visiting my dad's family over in Kentucky and finding exposure to the many sounds and beats there. This piece is a big showcase of that exposure. "Night Owl" is far from the first piece that I've written, played, and even partially recorded: it is, however, the first that I decided to release the finished project to the public. It is also far from perfectly mixed and edited, but I still felt like this was a piece I was confident enough to share, and a decent start to [hopefully] more pieces in the future.
