I have been involved in music since I first started taking piano lessons in first grade. In third grade I started trumpet, and in fifth grade I started playing cello, as well as baritone for my school's pep band. Moving on to middle school band I switched to trumpet, since I already had more experience on that, and swapped cello for guitar, which I continue to play weekly during church congregational songs and specials. I was first chair trumpet in my band all the way until graduation, when I received the John Phillip Sousa Award. All through middle and high school I experimented with any and all instruments that I could get my hands on, whether that be percussion, trombone, tuba, flute, anything I could find I wanted to at least try for a day or two. When I graduated high school, I picked up a job, and saved up and bought my own upright bass and began playing that, which has come to be my all time favorite instrument, and even though I am not as well versed as I am with trumpet or guitar, I am decently competent and can mostly hold my own.
