I grew up in a musical family. My mother earned her bachelor's degree in music and worked as a choir director. I've played many instruments spanning all sections including strings, horns, percussion, woodwinds, and choir. I wanted to pursue a music career but didn't like the bar scene and some of the people I had to deal with. The final decision was based on risk.
In the mid-1980s, I sold my PA and went to school to make lots of money. I vowed to save so I could retire early and pick up where I left off. I'm now 59 and just retired in late 2022. Time to start back up. My main instrument is percussion. But if there is another member willing to cover the drums, I can fill in other instruments similar to my last band where I played keys and swapped with the drummer for one set. Having fun and good relationships is number one, the music will fall in place then.

Influences
My influences run the gambit from classical, drum corps, heavy metal, rock, blues, bluegrass, funk, and most recently New Orleans jazz. I have too many musicians to name. The most current is Lachy Doley who is now my favorite Hammond artist. I just stumbled upon Mohini Dey who is a phenomenal bassist. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones is one of my favorite jazz bands if you include the banjo as a jazz instrument.

EQUIPMENT
I just sold my 1979 10-piece Ludwig Vistalite set that I bought in 1980. I have a Roland V-Drum set (with a volume control ;-). Fernandez bass and amp, 1970s Les Paul Studio, Vito Tenor Sax, Olds trumpet, misc guitar amps, single channel Yamaha amp, 16 ch mixer, Dbx 2 ch compressor, Dbx 2 ch eq, Lexcon effects, misc percussion, etc.
