ABOUT

Experienced guitar player in many styles. I have played classic rock, southern rock, bluegrass, country, metal, Southern Gospel, Christian Contemporary and modern hard rock. My most recent band was an Americana, bluegrass band. Prior to that I played lead guitar in a hard rock Christian band. I have pretty decent songwriting skills and have written rock, gospel and americana lyrics. I have co-written with grammy nominated IBMA songwriter Rick Lang. I am really wanting to get into a serious band who wants to go as far as they can. I have a good ear for harmony and I am an excellent backing vocalist.

Influences

Influences?? too many to list really. I can adapt to most musical genres and I try to always make the lead break tasteful and try to make it fit the song. I'm not a million note a minute player and I rarely do Van Halen style tapping. My lead playing is along the lines of Warren Haynes, Eric Clapton, John Fogerty, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Gary Rossington - bluesy rock lead. On the bluegrass side I like throwing in bluesy licks and transitioning back and forth between major and minor scales.
